Double Sheath Kevlar Yarn Reinforced ADSS Fiber Optic Cable

Description

The ADSS (All-Dielectric Self-Supporting) cable comprises loose tube stranding. Fibers are housed in high

modulus plastic tubes filled with a water-resistant compound. These tubes, along with fillers, are stranded

around a non-metallic central strength member made of FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic), creating a compact

circular cable core. The core is filled with a filling compound and covered by a thin polyethylene (PE) inner

sheath. Subsequently, a stranded layer of aramid yarns is applied over the inner sheath for reinforcement.

Finally, the cable is completed with either a polyethylene (PE) or anti-tracking (AT) outer sheath.

Application

1 ADSS cable design accounts for the real-time conditions of overhead power lines.

2 PE outer sheath is utilized for power lines below 110kV, while AT outer sheath is employed for 110kV and

above.

3 The specific design of aramid quantity and stranding process caters to the varying span requirements effectively.
